This probably needs editing but...

One of the brightest lights the world may ever know just went out.

A glow remains, and will remain.

A candle at its end, a flame without a body.

A photon carries momentum but no mass.

Then I saw that only the shadow was gone

The candle could no longer affect its own warmth

I miss the weight of the wax

I miss its impact on the table

I miss the active alteration of its expression

But not the light.

Upon seeing into many first meetings of Marcel

I heard "that boy glows"

Marcel carried his light into the world with a truly uncommon honesty

And perhaps even more amazingly, with so little pretense that it seemed
always to ignite that light in someone else.

These new fires continue to grow.

Marcel continues to carry us all.

He will be truly missed.
